Great Migration Safari August 2016

During the months of August & September, something magical takes place on the plains of the Masai Mara. Over 2 million wildebeest, zebra, gazelle & more gather to take advantage of the abundance of fresh green grass. The Mara River cuts through their grazing pastures & forces these animals to cross the river daily. This combined with an incredible array of opportunistic predators make for the photographic safari encounter of a lifetime, all made possible on this Wild Eye Great Migration Safari.

It was during a visit to the Masai Mara back in 2011 that the concept of the Wild Eye East Africa and the Wild Eye Mara Camp was born. In August 2012, more than a years’ worth of hard work and preparation came together when the first guests checked into the camp which was setup on the banks of the Mara River.

Over the past 4 years we have welcomed and shared this piece of heaven with almost 300 guests from around the world and can safely say that we have quite literally changed the way they see the Great Migration.
